Honda has upgraded its CB650R and CBR650R road sports models, which are equipped with a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder, 648cc engine and are popular with a wide range of users, by changing the livery, the exterior design of the seat cowls and the specifications of the front forks. Honda Dream will release the motorcycle on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
The CB650R is available in three color schemes: Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, Candy Chromosphere Red, and Matte Jeans Blue Metallic. The new color scheme emphasizes the motorcycle's compact yet dynamic styling, with the front fender now the same color as the fuel tank.
For the CBR650R, two colors are available: Grand Prix Red with stripes that enhance the sporty impression and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic with silver accents on a matte black base.
The seat cowl and rear fender on both the CB650R and CBR650R have been redesigned to give them a sharper, more dynamic look. The full-flat design of the instrument panel, which displays a wealth of information, has been enlarged in size and the angle of the backlight has been changed to improve visibility. The CB650R features a new SFF-BP (Separate Function Front Fork Big Piston) made by Showa, which combines excellent road-following performance with the lightweight, and the handlebar angle has been increased compared to the previous model for improved maneuverability.
A new USB Socket*1 is available as a genuine accessory sold separately, which is convenient for charging mobile devices.
The CB650R and CBR650R are equipped with an easy-to-handle chassis and an engine that provides a relaxed feeling from low to high rpm. The CB650R, CBR650R, and CBR650R are road sports models that feature an assist slipper clutch and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)*2 to help reduce rider fatigue and provide a sense of security and are supported by a wide range of users, especially those in their 40s and 50s.
*1 TYPE-C connector that can be inserted on both sides. Cannot be attached to the previous model.
*2 Honda Selectable Torque Control is not a system that eliminates slippage. It is an accelerator control system that assists the rider in accelerating. Therefore, as with vehicles not equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control, it cannot support unreasonable driving.
